Red Sox Get Shutout By Angels In L-A

The Angels shut down the Red Sox for the second straight day en route to a 4-0 victory in Anaheim.

Los Angeles starter Griffin Canning threw five strikeouts over seven scoreless frames to improve to 3-and-2.

Mickey Moniak, Matt Thaiss and Mike Trout each homered in the win.

The Angels have won five of their last six to improve to 27-and-23.

Boston starter Brayan Bello was charged the loss after he allowed two earned runs and struck out six batters through seven innings.

Red Sox Manager Alex Cora says he believes that Bello can build on that state.

The Red Sox managed just two hits in their third straight loss.

They are currently fourth in the AL East at 26-and-23.
