Cape Air Plans To Purchase Electric Planes

Cape Air has signed a letter of intent to purchase 75 fully electric commuter airplanes from Eviation, an Arlington based company.

The nine passenger planes, the Eviation Alice model, do not emit carbon emissions, and are designed to fly 500 miles on a single charge.

The first flights are expected to take place this year.

The company says the new aircraft are suitable for use in all environments that Cape Air currently serves.
