Chatham Property May Become Affordable Housing

A town-owned property in Chatham could soon become affordable housing.

The Cape Cod Chronicle reports the Select Board voted 3-to-2 last week to recommend the plan to voters for the property which currently includes a house and a barn at 127 Old Harbor Road.

The house previously hosted town offices, but it has been vacant for years.

One of the dissenting board members at last week's meeting, Cory Metters, said the housing plan goes against the wishes of the estate that left the property to the town.
