Barnstable County Sheriff Reveals Prisoner Work Numbers

Barnstable County Sheriff James Cummings says that work done by prisoners in the county amounted to more than ten thousand hours and was worth in the open marketplace of more than 260 thousand dollars.

That’s important because it is money that towns or the county did not have to spend.

Among other things, prisoners removed downed and damaged trees and did some of the restoration work at the Island Pond Cemetery Brooks.
