Steamship Authority Ferry Loses Steering

It was a long and frustrating night for people on the Ferry Boat Katama last night.

The ferry with nearly 80 people and 29 cars on it was towed back to Vineyard Haven by two Tisbury tugboats after losing a major part of its steering last night.

The ferry is being examined to determine exactly what happened. The Steamship Authority says though the ferry never lost power.

Everyone was back at Woods Hole just before 9:30 last night. Officials say at no time was anyone in any danger.
