IFAW Calls For Better Technology To Protect Whales

The Director of IFAW's Marine Conservation Division is calling on officials to use better technology to better protect the North American Right Whales. There are roughly 100 of the 411 remaining Right Whales who are breeding females. Patrick Ramage says that mankind is driving the massive decline. He is urging NOAA to promote ropeless fishing gear as one way to save whales. Ramage says humans caused it. Humans can fix it. The statement comes ahead of the NOAA Scoping Meeting that will develop new rules.
