MassDOT Supports New Cape Bridges In Study

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is making available its draft final report of a transportation study of the Cape Cod Canal. MassDOT is recommending that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers replaces the Bourne and Sagamore bridges. Based on new bridges, the DOT spells out plans to reconstruct the Bourne Rotary as a highway interchange and modify other nearby major roadways. Congressman Bill Keating noted the Bourne and Sagamore have long-exceeded their working lives after he and others re-filed a bill on Monday that prioritizes money for evacuation routes.
