Vineyard Bingo Hall Construction Starts

Construction has begun on a Bingo Hall in Aquinnah.
The Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head announced the beginning of the construction on Saturday.
The tribe says the hall will have 250 electronic gaming machines.
Tribe Chair Cheryl Andrews-Maltais has also released a response to the Martha's Vineyard Commission, which has been asked by the town board to review the gambling establishment’s plans.
Andrews-Maltais said the Commission has no authority to review the project and asked that the recent federal court decision upholding the tribe's sovereign rights be respected.
