Wareham officials are asking people to stop feeding peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to seals. Officials started putting out the word after a harp seal was found ashore Monday, along with a few PB&J sandwiches.
The town's Natural Resources director says seals often come on shore to rest as they migrate south from Canada during the winter. He said even well-meaning people can stress the seals if they don't give the animals space.
