Army Corps Details Bourne Bridge Work This Spring

The Army Corps of Engineers has released its timeline for scheduled maintenance of the Bourne Bridge.

Replacement of damaged roadway joints on the bridge will begin in late March or early April and continue through the spring just prior to Memorial Day weekend in May. The Corps says the work is weather dependent.

During the scheduled times for work, travel over the Bourne Bridge will be reduced from two lanes in each direction to one wider 12-foot lane in each direction. Signs, traffic control devices and police details will be used at all times work is being performed to assist the motoring public.

Motorists planning to use the Bourne Bridge during this time frame should be aware that travel delays are likely to occur during the morning and afternoon peak travel periods each day.

All lanes on the Sagamore Bridge will remain open while work is occurring on the Bourne Bridge.
