Gas Prices Unchanged This Week in Massachusetts

AAA’s October 15 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.84 per gallon, unchanged from a week ago. The Massachusetts price is five cents lower than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.89. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 33 cents lower at $2.51.

“Consumer gasoline demand across the country has declined for a third week,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs. “Gas prices may be signaling that they are taking a turn toward slowly decreasing.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 41 cents, from a low of $2.68 to a high of $3.09.
