NRC to Meet with Entergy, Holtec Regarding Pilgrim

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a meeting on September 25 with Entergy Nuclear, the owners of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power station in Plymouth, and Holtec International, the company that is purchasing the soon-to-be-shuttered nuclear plant.

Entergy and Holtec reached agreement last month on the sale that includes the transfer of all licenses, spent fuel, and Nuclear Decommissioning Trusts following the plant’s shutdown in 2019.

According to the NRC, the meeting is for the Commission to get to understand and discuss the plan, schedule, and topics of Entergy’s planned license transfer to Holtec.

The September 25 meeting will take place in Rockville, MD.
