Barnstable County’s real estate figures for July shows a slight drop in volume but an increase in total value of sales.
County Register of Deeds, John Meade, says volume dropped 1.4% over the same period a year ago. Total value, however, jumped 4.5%. The median individual property sale value was up 5.6% from July of 2017.
Mortgage activity last month dropped 8.9% from last July’s figure, which Meade says could reflect rising interest rates.
Based on all property sales valued above $50,000, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in July was $375,000. That’s an increase of $20,000 from the median sale price last July.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is down 4.1%; Total Value of Sales is up 0.1%; Individual Sales Value is up 5.7%; Mortgage Volume is down 7.3%.
