The 174TH Barnstable County Fair kicked off Monday at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds in East Falmouth.
The Fair features its usually array of staples like food, music, rides, and agricultural exhibits. In fact, it was the Barnstable County Agricultural Society that held the first fair in 1844. That inaugural fair was held at the County Courthouse in Barnstable Village.
The fair runs through Sunday with the hours 4 to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
