There was a fire Friday morning at the medical marijuana dispensary in Mashpee.
Mashpee Fire Captain Stephen Costello tells WXTK News that shortly after 6:30, a passerby saw heavy smoke coming from the rear roof of the building at 29 Echol Road and notified his department. Arriving crews confirmed the attic was filled with heavy smoke from a fire and the call for mutual aid went out. Units from Sandwich, Cotuit, COMM, and Joint Base Cape Cod responded with personnel and equipment and the fire was quickly knocked down.
Captain Costello says there were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
M3 Ventures, Inc., formerly Medical Marijuana of Massachusetts, has not yet opened that facility. It’s Plymouth facility opened on Thursday.
