Two Nantucket Men Facing Drug, Fraud Charges


A Nantucket grand jury has handed down indictments against two foreign-born men who have been living on the island for a number of years.

The Inquirer and Mirror reports one of the men, Martin Chiaradia, 34, of 8 Folger Ave, Apt A, will face charges in Superior Court of three counts of distributing cocaine, two counts of trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, two counts of possession with intent to distribute MDMA and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

The other individual, Bulgarian national Andrey Stanev, 38, of 3 Winn Street, will be charged with larceny pursuant to a single scheme of withdrawing thousands of dollars from Nantucket ATMs from the checking account of a Connecticut man.
