The tropical bird that landed on Cape Cod as a result of Tropical Storm Jose has succumbed to its injuries and illnesses.
Wild Care Cape cod, the rehabilitation facility in Eastham making the announcement Monday afternoon that the masked booby – believed to be the first of its kind to ever arrive in the Bay State – was in dire condition when found and never got better.
A necropsy will be done on the bird by Tufts University.
