Centerville Man Facing Numerous Child Rape Charges

A Boston Fire Department Lieutenant from Centerville has pleaded not guilty to numerous child rape charges.

Edward Kulik Jr., 56, was arraigned in Barnstable District Court. The Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office says Kulik, who worked with the Massachusetts Mentor program’s Hyannis office and at Hyannis West Elementary School, has been charged with three counts of rape of a child with force, three counts of rape, and one count of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older.

Kulik posted $3,500 cash bail and was ordered to stay away from all persons under 16 years of age, including the victim, stay away from schools with students under 16, stay away from mentoring programs and wear a GPS monitor.

Kulik is due back in court for a pre-trial hearing on April 24.
