Driver Arrested After Dragging Incident On Bourne Bridge

A Massachusetts State Police trooper is recovering from injuries suffered during a pursuit Thursday morning in Bourne.

Reports say the trooper was dragged by the driver of a vehicle during a traffic stop.

The driver was later arrested at a home in East Falmouth.

The officer's injuries are described as minor.

Meantime, a Cape Cod State Rep says he is disgusted with the targeting of police and other public safety officers. And he is doing something about it.

In the aftermath- State Rep Steven Xiarhos in a social media post is calling for an end to the violence against public safety.

He is filing three measures on Beacon Hill—one would end cashless bails for repeat offenders. Another elevates attacks on public safety to felony status.

A third would create a buffer zone around public safety in the line of duty.

That is the so -called Hallo Bill.
