A pedestrian is being treated at an off-Cape trauma center following a Wednesday accident in Yarmouth.
The 81-year-old victim was struck by an SIV shortly before 11 a.m. near the West Yarmouth Road cranberry bogs.
Rescuers called for a MedFlight helicopter to a Boston area hospital and the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene.
Police say the victim's injuries are serious, but they do not appear to be life-threatening.
Police have filed an immediate threat license suspension for the driver.
