Assembly Of Delegates Endorses Medicare For All In Massachusetts

The Cape Cod Assembly of Delegates is supporting bills that would establish a single-payer healthcare system in Massachusetts.

Thirteen of the 15 delegates voted to endorse the legislation that would create the state-run Massachusetts Health Care Trust to replace the multi-payer system of private insurance,

Medicaid, and Medicare. Under the plan, every Massachusetts resident would be automatically covered and could visit any doctor or hospital in the Commonwealth.

The Cape Government Finance Department says switching to a single-payer system could save county government around two-point-five-million-dollars a year in health insurance costs.
