Falmouth Police Re-Establish K-9 Unit After 25-Year Hiatus

The Falmouth Police Department is re-establishing its K-9 Unit after a hiatus of 25-years.

Police officials say the new unit will be comprised of four highly specialized canines that will address specific needs.

There will be drug and explosive detection dogs, a patrol unit and a comfort dog offering support to victims, community members and officers during traumatic or high-stress situations.

Police Department officials say the public will have opportunities to meet the new K-9 teams during upcoming community events.
