State Representative Steve Xiarhos has written a letter to the U.S. Department of Transportation and Army Corps of Engineers asking them to reaffirm their commitment to federal funding for the Cape Cod bridge projects.
Xiarhos says many people have expressed concerns about the conflicting reports regarding funding for the projects and as of Monday there had been no official notice of changes.
He says the Sagamore and Bourne bridges are essential for transportation, public safety, and the economic vitality of the Cape.
Xiarhos says he's fully committed to seeing them rebuilt and securing the federal funding necessary to get the work done.
