Bail Set At 25-Hundred-Dollars For School Shooting Threat Suspect

A judge set bail at 25-hundred-dollars Tuesday for the 18-year-old Falmouth man accused of plotting a school shooting.

Ian Fotheringham was charged on September 12th with threatened used of a deadly weapon in a public building.

The Cape and Islands District Attorney requested a 250-thousand-dollar cash bail, but Fotheringham's attorney argued that was too high, and his client was presumed the right to a bail he could afford.

The judge granted the lower bail with conditions that Fotheringham must stay within the inclusion zone of his home and continue mental health treatment.

He will be allowed to leave home for legal and medical reasons.

Police began investigating Fotheringham in August after receiving information that he reportedly wanted to shoot up a school. His next court date is October 6th.
