Falmouth To Host Community Forum To Address Noise Bylaw Update

Falmouth will host a community forum this week regarding an update to the town's noise bylaw.

Town Manager Mike Renshaw says the current bylaw has vague standards and prohibits certain noises if they are audible at 150 feet and those standards can be difficult to enforce in places like recreational facilities.

The town commissioned a noise study to evaluate potential locations for a pickleball court and provide context for setting objective and measurable noise standards.

The town wants to establish a balanced community noise standard.

Wednesday's forum takes place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Gus Canty Community Center on Main Street.
