Barnstable Court Complex Modernization To Cost 71-Million-Dollars

The Barnstable County Board of Regional Commissioners has been briefed on the cost of a long-term plan to modernize the county court complex and offices. The "Facilities Condition Assessment" was presented by a team from the Gensler architecture and planning firm hired to perform the work.

The county owns or leases 15 buildings that include offices, AmeriCorps housing, court facilities, and infrastructure essential to public health and emergency response.

The assessment team found most facilities in fair to poor condition and nearly 71-million-dollars will be required to repair and modernize the assets.
