A driver has been arrested after fleeing from Falmouth police and crashing his vehicle on Menauhant Road.
The incident started just before 9 p.m. Monday when officers stopped 28-year-old Elijah Williams for speeding on Homestead Lane.
During the stop, police say they saw narcotics paraphernalia and ordered Williams out of the vehicle, but he refused and fled the scene.
Officers estimated Williams was going 80-miles-an-hour and they did not pursue him further due to public safety concerns.
Police came upon the crash site a short time later and Williams was taken into custody.
He faces traffic and drug-related charges.
