New figures from the state are confirming that the Cape and Islands are major players in tourism game.
The head of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce says the Cape is tops in the state for short-term rentals and number two in hospitality occupancy and spending.
Numbers also show that Barnstable County hauls in around two-point-seven-billion-dollars in direct visitor spending and generates about a quarter-billion-dollars in annual tax revenue.
