This is the weekend to turn in prescription drugs that are not wanted, not needed or expired.
National Drug Take Back Day is Saturday and Cape Cod residents can turn in their meds at participating Police Departments between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 pm, no questions asked.
The Drug Enforcement Administration says the improper disposal of pharmaceuticals poses risks to the environment and public health because flushing medications or throwing them in the trash could lead to harmful chemicals entering Cape Cod's drinking water supply.
