The Town of Provincetown has received a one-million-dollar grant to support the Motta Field Redevelopment Project.
The grant comes from the Healey-Driscoll Administration's Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs as part of more than 27-million dollars in state funding for park improvements and open space conservation.
"We are incredibly excited to receive this significant grant for Motta Field, which will allow us to bring our community’s vision for this space to life," said Town Manager Alex B. Morse. "The project will provide a safe, accessible, and vibrant recreational area for Provincetown’s residents and visitors, while supporting our town’s goals for environmental sustainability and community well-being."
Officials say Motta Field will be a cornerstone of Provincetown's efforts to support outdoor recreation with a skate park, pickleball and tennis courts, playgrounds, a baseball field, track, amenities, and a community plaza.
