GOP Primary For State Senate: Razor Thin Margin - Recount Could Take Weeks

There has been a dramatic turnaround in the Republican Primary race for the State Senate seat that Susan Moran retired from, in order to become Clerk of Courts in Barnstable County.

The results have not been certified yet but with 99 percent of the vote in, Plymouth State Rep Matthew Muratore has a razer slim lead of just over 50 votes in the race with fellow Republican Kari MacRae.

According to the latest figures show Muratore with 6, 978 and MacCrae with 6,928.

It is unclear how many absentee ballots are still outstanding or how many mail-in ballots have yet to be counted.

Neither candidate has conceded.

MacCrae says she will file the paperwork for a hand recount of the ballot a process that most experts say could take weeks.
