Former Selectboard Member Asking Judge To Remove GPS Bracelet

A former Bourne Select Board member is seeking to have his GPS device removed.

Attorneys for James Potter have filed motions to remove his monitoring device, which was approved by a Barnstable Superior Court judge.

Potter was arraigned in April on 15 charges, which include rape of a child, indecent assault and battery on a child, stemming from incidents which date back to 2009.

He pleaded not guilty and was freed on 20-thousand dollars’ bail.

The judge’s decision, however, is pending; a trial date has not been set.
