Promoting public safety is behind a scheduled effort this Friday afternoon focusing on vessel safety checks.
Members of the Coast Guard and the Barnstable Harbormaster Division will be stationed at the Blish Point Boat Ramp from 2:00 to 4:00 and conducting the courtesy inspections.
Most mariners will shove off with a list of potential safety improvements, some they may have never considered.
