A close call for Barstool Sports Dave Portnoy.
The businessman almost was lost as see – but was rescued by the Coast Guard Monday.
Portnoy, in an internet video refers to himself as “Captain Dave” says he wanted to show his mom his boat yesterday when he went past the buoy and lost power.
It turns out that he had no phone, radio or anchor but was able to fire off a flare gun for help.
Another boat owner came by, called the Coast Guard and he was rescued.
Portnoy thanked the Coast Guard for “saving Captain Dave’s life.”
It's unclear whether the Barstool Sports star will be back on the water anytime soon.
