State and local officials are investigating yesterday's pre-dawn house fire in Barnstable that left a man dead.
Authorities say Hyannis firefighters were called to the residence at 326 Oakland Road shortly before 5:30 a.m., arriving to find two people outside the burning home.
Both reportedly were taken to Cape Cod Hospital with unspecified injuries.
Fire officials say the victim's body was found inside the home a short time later.
No other injuries were reported.
