The trip to the southern border by five members of Governor Maura Healey's administration cost taxpayers nearly seven-thousand-dollars.
The group traveled to Texas to educate officials in that state about the ongoing shelter crisis in Massachusetts.
The group visited several Texas cities that are points of entry for migrants that have ended up in Massachusetts.
Healey says the trip was a success, as people on the ground need to hear their message.
