Officials on Cape Cod are voicing concern about reduced hours at the Sandwich Coast Guard station.
Due to staff shortages, search and rescue operations will be cut from 24/7 to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
There will be round-the clock coverage at the canal station on weekends and holidays.
Operations at the Woods Hole and Provincetown Coast Guard stations are not affected.
