The Cape and Islands Regional Network on Homelessness has released its 2024 Point in Time Count.
The count provides a snapshot of how many are people were homeless on a single night.
The 2024 count identified just over 568 homeless people on the Cape on the night off January 23, an increase of 141 over last year.
Director of Human Services, Joseph Pacheco says the count serves as a guide for planning and allocating resources.
He also says the data helps to better understand the homeless demographics and focus on emerging trends.
