Dennis Animal Control is reminding residents that they only handle issues related to domestic animals like dogs and cats.
The service has been receiving a lot of calls of late about dead or injured wildlife that are out of their lane.
Officials say if someone encounters distressed or deceased marine life, call the IFAW.
When it comes to raccoons, opossum or coyotes, call the DNR.
Cape Wildlife in Barnstable and Wildcare in Eastham handle orphaned animals, and folks who find nuisance animals like skunks and squirrels in their homes need to call a pest or wildlife removal company.
