Officials in Sandwich are working to relieve the blocked access to Town Neck Beach.
The regular stairway and sand path have been closed due to erosion from recent storms and included a six to eight-foot drop-off.
This plus continued work on restoring the Boardwalk has left the town to scramble for a solution.
David DeConto, Natural Resources Department director says the access from First Beach at the east end of the Cape Cod Canal.
Two points off Freeman Avenue are also available.
