New "Police Dog" Assisted In Barnstable Standoff

Massachusetts State Police say one of their Police Dogs were shot during a standoff with a man in Hyannis who barricaded himself inside of a home earlier this month.

But the dog in question, “Roscoe” is still functional.

“Roscoe” is the newest tool in such hostage and standoff cases.

“Roscoe” is a mechanical dog capable of taking gunshots.

The man on St Francis Circle eventually surrendered to police.

Officials say that “Roscoe” is another way that human public safety officials are kept safe.
