Barnstable County will purchase three portable radio stations for emergency purposes.
County Emergency Preparedness Director Chip Reilly outlined the purpose of the stations, which will provide information during emergencies, but may also be used for major events such as festivals or parades.
The range, with all three radios operating, could cover the full Cape.
The cost, about 90 thousand dollars will come from the county's COVID relief fund.
