Steamship Authority officials say they are still working to determine the cause of technical problems that have held up its online reservation system.
General summer reservations were set to open on January 19th.
The problem is not new, as the system has suffered overloads when thousands of travelers access it.
Officials say an aging IT infrastructure built by the authority is to blame, and some board members say a new one, built by an experienced outside firm should take over the task. No date has been given for when reservations may be taken.
