Cape Cod should expect more and heavier storms, higher tides, more flooding, and drought events, due to climate change.
Sarah Das is an associate scientist in geology and geophysics at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute.
She has been named to a new Climate Science Advisory Panel, which is designed to integrate climate action into Massachusetts' state government.
Das notes coastal flooding and sea level rise due to frequent storm activity is the main problem facing the Cape.
She further says government is in a reactive state, which must change to protect communities and the environment from what is coming in the next decade.
