Provincetown's manager is calling on the Select Board to dissolve the overseer of the MacMillan Pier.
In a letter to the board, Alex Morse says the Public Pier Corporation has accomplished its goal in revitalizing the area and making it economically viable.
This, he says, should allow the town to assume those responsibilities.
Provincetown and the corporation have worked to invest nearly 20-million-dollars into the pier over the past two decades, which includes a full reconstruction.
The state has also awarded 800-thousand for the ongoing project.
The corporation would have to be dissolved by a vote at town meeting.
