Expansion Plans At Chatham Transfer Station Rolled Back

Chatham officials have decided to scale back plans to expand the town's transfer station.

The emphasis of the project will be shifted toward one of the top priorities, improved safety for employees.

The main reason is cost-with just over 5 million dollars available for the project, the lowest bid came in about 2 million higher.

Town officials say they will consider asking voters at town meetings for the additional necessary funds.
