Home Confinement For Chatham Man In Fraud Case

A Chatham man will be stuck in the house for the next three months serving his sentence for securities fraud.

Sixty-year-old Gregory Manning will also have to pay a 25-thousand-dollar fine in addition to the home confinement after pleading guilty in October to using inside info from a friend on a Massachusetts semiconductor company's impending purchase of a California firm to make a pre-sale stock buy.

Manning later sold the stock at a big profit and provided a kickback to his buddy.

Another man who took advantage of the tip was sentenced last year.
