The third storm in a week is poised to bring high winds and potentially heavy rains to Cape Cod.
The latest system will enter the region this evening. A High Wind Watch goes into effect at 1 am Saturday for eastern Massachusetts, the Cape, and Islands. Southeast winds of 30 to 40 miles per hour are to be expected, with gusts as high as 60 miles per hour.
A Coastal Flood Watch is posted for Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket Counties, effective at 10 am Friday. Extra-high tides with at least one-foot inundation above ground level are possible along shorelines, with minor flooding of the Pamet River in Truro and areas around Provincetown.
Rainfall totals are expected to be less than one inch with this storm.
