Yarmouth is planning to change its town seal.
A review committee presented the proposed changes to the Board of Selectmen.
The original seal from 1895 was in recent years viewed as inaccurately depicting the Native Wampanoag tribe and also the town of Mashpee.
This led to voters approving the Seal Review Committee at Town Meeting in 2022.
The new image includes a white pine tree, outlined in nautical rope, the Port Gammon Lighthouse, and a two-masted schooner.
A final design proposal will go before the next annual meeting.
