A recount is expected in the race for a seat on the Barnstable Town Council, which ended with a one-vote advantage.
The Precinct 9 election on Tuesday saw Charlie Bloom receive 100 votes, while Michael Mecenas came in with 99.
Mecenas has requested a re-count, which requires at least ten signatures from registered voters.
A total of 202 ballots were cast for the seat, with three left blank.
The winner will succeed Tracy Shaughnessy, who chose not to seek re-election.
